RACE FOR RUBAGA SOUTH MP: EUGENIA NASSOLO SECRETLY RUNS TO LUKWAGO FOR PFF CARD, SAYS NUP BOSSES ARE UNDEPENDABLE

0

LEAD PHOTO: In 2021, Nassolo did not respect NUP decission. She ran to Chairman Mao for a DP ticket and lost. This time dont be surprised if she contests on PFF ticket!

NEWS EDITOR MEDIA

PRIOR to 2021 General elections, Eugenia Nassolo was among the contenders for the Rubaga South Constituency MP NUP ticket but on sensing that she doesnt stand any chances to be cleared by the Party independent vetting committee, she met Hon. Norbert Mao and was given a DP ticket on which she contested and lost!

NUP vetting Committee was spot on, Nassolo held no ground, public don’t want her due to her foul plays.

DP Flag bearer for Rubaga South MP 2021, Eugenia Nassolo

She was defeated hands down by NUP’s Aloysius Mukasa, commonly known as Taata Rubaga!

CONSISTENT: NUP’s Hon. Aloysius Mukasa

Bankrolled by her DP Party President Norbert Mao, Nassolo ran to court protesting Hon. Mukasa’s massive victory. She again, lost and coiled her tail!

Years later, shameless Nassolo was seen at NUP Party headquaters hobnobbing with some party members who must have lied that they will secure her a ticket for 2026 without much effort.

Although insiders say, Nassolo and Mao regularly meet and talk, no one knows what the two are up to, of recent. When every one would expect Nassolo to swallow her pill and respectfully bow out of Rubaga politics after 2021 embarrassment by voters and betraying NUP, she has again tendered in her interest to contest for Rubaga South MP.

Nassolo who is known to be in a political ‘bed’ with Lordmayor Erias Lukwago, visited Besigye at his Kasangati home, before the four-times Presidential candidate was arrested. The two, Besigye and Nassolo had an exclusive meeting although Nassolo said on media that she had gone to surprise her friend, Dr. Besigye on his birthday.

It is suspected that Lukwago who is Nassolo’s confidant, was the brain behind this meeting and the motive was to introduce Nassolo to former President Museveni’s Doctor so that in the future, she would be deployed. We shall come back to in another full detailed shocking story!

NASSOLO APPLIES FOR NUP 2026 MP CARD

When NUP invited those intending to contest for 2026 election on the Kavule Headquaters party ticket, Nassolo was among those who showed interest in Rubaga South.

In fact, she rushed to fill the forms and returned them before others. She has already printed a few posters with NUP symbol.

NASSOLO-PFF DEAL LEAKS

Whereas NUP decision is yet to be made on who to give the party ticket, we can reliably report that, impatient Nassolo has secretly run to her friend Erias Lukwago to book, new Party PFF ticket for MP Rubaga South, in case NUP returns Hon. Mukasa Aloysius.

Nassolo believes she stands no chance with NUP and has therefore resorted to banking on PFF for a ticket!

“Yes she is our own and let NUP make a mistake, we will front Nassolo for MP Rubaga South. Among leading constituencies PFF is targeting in Kampala, Rubaga South is top on the list. It must fall to PFF. We have hopes in Nassolo to win it for us.” Said an insider.

The same Nassolo is said to be in good books with Hon. Mathias Mpuuga’s Democratic Front (DF) Party. For starters, Nassolo is very close to a certain powerful Kabaka’s man in Mengo. Now this powerful man wants Mpuuga to takeover Nassolo and anything can happen anytime. We have tried to reach out to Nassolo for a comment, but by press time, we hadn’t got her!

A number of aspirants are eying Rubaga South MP seat.Ruling NRM is likely to front Lubaga Division Council Speaker Musa Mbaziira.

The incumbent, Aloysius Mukasa is the favourite in the Rubaga South Race and guaranteed a return to the 12th Parliament.

NUP FAVOURITE FOR NAKASEKE DISTRICT LCV CHAIRMAN WILLIAM MUSISI IN A BITTER EXCHANGE WITH POLICE BOSS OVER YOUTH ELECTION RIGGING

0

LEAD PHOTO: Chairman William Musisi (right) exchanging with Ssemuto OC Bagyenda, during youth elections in Nakaseke district, last week

NEWS EDITOR MEDIA

WILLIAM MUSISI, the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) Party aspirant for Nakaseke District LCV Chiarman is a real force to be reckoned with!

Last week, during the National youth elections, Musisi put up a spirited fight against all attempts of rigging votes in Nakaseke District. At Makaayi in Ssemuto, he took on Ssemuto police boss after failed attempts to block him not to access polling stations.

A tough speaking Musisi face off with the Police boss and told him how he (Musisi) is a leader in the opposition leading NUP party, therefore, he can’t sit and fold hands when party youth are complaining about open day rigging.

Mr. Musisi who was narrowly defeated by NRM’s ignatius Koomu in the last election for Nakaseke District LCV Chiarman told police boss that, “Under my mandate as a leader in NUP and an aspirant of Nakaseke District LCV Chairmanship, I have come here to ascertain acts of vote rigging reported by our party youth on ground. It’s absurd that some of our members are denied an opportunity to elect their leaders. That is unacceptable.”

Police and other security operatives were accused by NUP for showing sides during the youth elections yet they are not supposed to be partisan. Mr. Musisi who on that day traversed most parts of Nakaseke to supervise youth elections say, polls were marred by irregularities and the declared results do not represent youths’ choices!

A renown activist and freedom fighter, Musisi addressed groups of NUP youth in Nakaseke not to lose hope saying, “We have a big war to fight and win early next year. Elections in some parts of Nakaseke were rigged but in 2026 it will not be business as usual. So let’s remain united and focused, we will tame votes rigging. We have to protect the victory of our President Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi and all flag bearers, come rainfall or sunshine.”

In the 2021 General elections, Nakaseke is one of the Luweero Triangle which fell to opposition NUP.

In Nakaseke Central Constituency, NUP’s Allan Mayanja Sebunya defeated former finance Cabinet minister Syda Bbumba.Hon. Paul Ssemakula Luttamaguzi was re elected MP Nakaseke South. Esther Nakawooya almost defeated NRM’s Sarah Najjuma for the District Woman Member of Parliament.NUP says, in 2026, they will take all elective seats in Nakaseke District.

However, ruling NRM Party leaders are also strategising and already plotting on how to reclaim Nakaseke District. In an exclusive interview with this leading investigative News Website, Mr. Musisi assured us of their team work saying, NUP is unbreakable in Nakaseke advising State minister for Kampala Kabuye Kyofatogabye, Hon. Sarah Najjuma, Ignatius Koomu and company not to waste their time and resources. We are told, Hon. Luttamaguzi who recently crossed to NUP from Democratic Party (DP) is the team leader in Nakaseke and ready to command NUP to victory in 2026!Let’s watch the space.

NUP YOUTH WINGER JOEL INNOCENT SSENTONGO RUNS TO TV AFTER RECEIVING DEATH THREATS, BOBI WINE CONFIRMS ZAIDI’S ABDUCTION AS NRM BOSS OPENLY VOWS, ‘WE WILL CRUSH YOU’

NEWS EDITOR MEDIA

MY life and the life of my sister Stecia Ssentongo is in danger! I even don’t know whether I will leave this TV studio safely or will end this year alive. They want to abduct and kill us because of our support to Hon. Bobi Wine,” said youthful Joel Innocent Ssentongo, while featuring on a religious based television station in Kampala, Uganda.

MY LIFE IS IN DANGER: Joel Innocent Ssentongo when he featured on Dream tv in May, 2025.

He shockingly revealed that, “Men said to be security operatives in plain clothes are trailing us on bodabodas, I receive threatening phone calls from private numbers, their order is that we stop mobilizing youth in schools to support NUP’s Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi and instead rally behind the NRM corrupt regime or we face death! It’s a No deal on our side”.

“We remain unapologetically proud of the conscious, informed decision I and my sister made to support NUP and our leader, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi. Let me categorically state it that, no amount of intimidation will shake our resolve”, Ssentongo said all this, during a political and current Affairs’ show ‘The Agenda’ which shows both on Dream TV and BTV every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6am to 8am.

DREAM TV STUDIO PHOTO: From left; Moses Mugalula (Show host), Dr. Swaibu Nsereko (JEEMA Party Spokesperson), Bob Luswata (NRM Secretariat), Joel Innocent Ssentongo (NUP) and David Musiri (NUP).

Born of Nabisalu Village, Kibuye I Parish, Makindye Division in Kampala, on tv, Ssentongo was on May 13, 2025 hosted alongside JEEMA (Justice Forum) Party Spokesperson Dr. Swaibu Nsereko, NRM’s Bob Luswata Bwanika and Mr. David Musiri (NUP Head of Institutions).

Ssentongo who was invited to talk about youth elections organised by the Electoral Commission said he had no hopes for the opposition youth to win because the organisers were in bed with the ruling regime predicting another sham election. Ssentongo said, “The NRM government fears a democratic process. Some of us who chose to decampaign a corrupt regime are threatened with abduction, arrests and more so, death.”, making a shocking revelation that, “I receive phone calls threatening my life if I do not stop mobilizing youth in schools to reject a corrupt government. I am tired of unidentified men said to be State operatives, trailing me, everywhere i go. My only intention is to see NRM government leave power and be replaced by a people’s government which will respect Human Rights.”

While speaking on tv, Joel Innocent Ssentongo recalled  a day, he was trailed with his sister Stecia by men on a motorcycle covering heads with helmets. They were also on a bobaboda coming from NUP Party Headquaters at Kavule to attend a weekly press conference. Without going into details of this incident, Joel said they escaped through Makerere University until they reached out to Mityana Municipality NUP Member of Parliament Hon. Francis Zaake, who rescued the two.

PHOTO: Joel’s sister, Stecia Ssentongo, an ardent NUP supporter and a youth mobilizer. The two complained about men in plain clothes witch hunting them

With tears rolling down his eyes, Joel Ssentongo said, he even fears to sleep at his parents’ home, keeps on hiding at friends’ home.  “I am tired of sleeping in friends’ homes. I would be sleeping in my father’s house, during school vacation i worked at a family business, and I’m tired of hiding,” Said Ssentongo, as he speaks out about an alleged manhunt by unidentified security operatives that has forced him to keep on hiding.

Haunted because of our political belief: STECIA SSENTONGO

He asked, “But why is this regime so insecure? They always taught us that we are the  leaders of the next Generation, leaders of tomorrow. This is our tomorrow, our Generation. But everytime we move in to take leadership positions, we are beaten, tortured and we have heard about sad stories of molesting our sisters in the opposition.”

“You all saw what transpired in Kawempe North by-election. We were beaten by security organs especially JATT, with impunity, just because, we the youth, supported NUP’s Erias Luyimbazi Nalukoola.” Said Joel Innocent Ssentogo.

Asked what it is, that makes him hate NRM to the marrow, Ssentongo said he believes this is the 21st Century, with 21st Century problems requiring 21st Century solutions. He categorically stated that, if youth of the 21st century who can ably solve 21st century problems are indeed abducted, tortured by the government, intimidated and left with no other alternative, “Apart from fighting for our rights, fighting for democracy.”

PHOTO: Because of his love for NUP, even at school, Joel Ssentongo loved putting on red, NUP’s colour

He informed viewers that many of his colleagues in the youth wing of NUP are continually arrested and left to rot in different government prisons. He asked, what makes it so difficult for the government to produce them  before courts of law.

When the show host, journalist Moses Mugalula ‘The Senior Investigator’ asked why Ssentongo and his sister Stecia, young as they are detest NRM regime, Joel Innocent Ssentongo, without mincing words, shot back to this Political Affairs TV show host that, “What kind of question is that  Mr. Mugalula? I feel irritated when someone asks such a question.”

“Look at what is transpiring in our country, hundreds of fellow youth are jobless, many don’t have the means to go to school, no one pays their school fees bills, hundreds are homeless, they sleep on the streets on empty stomachs,  ghetto areas like Kisenyi, Kawempe, Kamwokya and Katwe to mention but a few are full of disgruntled youth who are marginalised and neglected by the ruling regime.” Said Ssentongo. He advised the show host to find time and visit Uganda prisons, saying, all are full of youth, many on trumped-up charges, they are political prisoners and the government feels unbothered. He gave an example of youth like Eddie Mutwe and others, tortured almost to death! Youth are witnessing acute corruption in our country. We are too scared, very insecure with the NRM government. We are so much pressed on the wall.

Asked whether this is done to disuade them from supporting Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi for President, Joel Innocent Ssentongo said, “God, the creator gave us a right to decide our choice of leaders. You cant force me to vote a leader against my will.

Born and raised up during President Museveni’s 40 years’ rule, Joel Innocent Ssentongo told viewers during a TV show that as a young voter, he is ready to continue mobilizing for his NUP party and Hon. Kyagulanyi. “I am ready to reach out to fellow youth in schools to embrace the Protest vote campaign ahead of 2026 General elections.”

BIRDS OF SAME FEATHERS; Joel Inbocent Ssentongo with John Baptist Ssegirinya, NUP youth leader in Rubaga

Despite the fact that he is intimidated, Joel Innocent looked determined. Although uncertain whether he will be alive the next day, this young man believes future generations will enjoy the fruits of today’s sweat. He said, “I know, security operatives trailing me are also watching this show. He intimated to the Host that he is not sure of tomorrow and lives one day at a time. He believes and knows fr a fact that his life and that of his sister Stecia Ssentongo is in danger.

“‘WE WILL BEAT YOU, WE WILL CONTINUE TO TORTURE YOU’, NRM BOSS ATTACKS NUP’S JOEL INNOCENT SSENTONGO DURING A TV SHOW

Responding to Ssentongo’s worry for his life and that of his sister, Mr. Bob Bwanika Luswata an official from NRM Secretariat, plot 10 Kyadondo vowed that the ruling regime will continue haunting, beating up and arresting the likes of Ssentongo who detest NRM government.Clad in NRM yellow shirt, Bob Bwanika said, “We will beat you, we will continue to arrest and torture you and all opposition youth who think you must be heard! You dont understand us. Yes you are very many but we will control you and you must abide or be ready to face it rough. Expect no mercy.” Warned NRM ruling government official.

Mr. Bob Bwanika Luswata revealed that NRM brought peace but the opposition shouldnt use it to plot against the regime because that will never be accepted.”NUP youth like Joel Innocent Ssentongo must respect the law and dare not joke with us. As long as you continue protesting against the status quo, we will suppress you, we have   the security teams  that can teach you a lesson you will never forget, we shall crush you, better run for your life or cross to NRM.” Vowed NRM boss, Bob Luswata Bwanika.

David Musiri, Head of Insititution mobilization in NUP reacted angrily to NRM’s Luswata saying that, his regime is like a sinking boat, it can intimidate, abduct or even kill NUP youth but that will never save it from falling. “NRM is a dying horse, it is kicking many opposition youth but no one will ever give us power on a silver platter. Power is fought for. Many youth like Joel Innocent Ssentongo have been arrested and will never be seen again. Look at our brother Kibalama, Prime Minister Nabbanja openly told Parliament that they abducted and have him in their cells, but the next day she denied ever knowing Kibalama’s whereabouts.” Revealed David Musiri

He said 78% of the Uganda’s population are youth and 90% of NRM supporters are youth.

“Innocent is here, at his youthful years, they are calling him on private numbers, trying to intimidate him, the goverment fears its own people, the regime looks at us as enemies.” Said Musiri, a political activist and human rights defender.

JUST IN! Chairman Mao has been declared winner for the Democratic Party (DP) President General elections in Mbarara after defeating Buikwe South Member of Parliament Dr. Michael Lulume Bayiga in a landslide victory. Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde remains DP Vice President after he was declared unopposed.

In a delegates conference which convened in Mbarara to elect party leadership on NEC, Mao emerged winner and was declared by the Party electoral commission boss Kennedy Mutenyo.

His term will run up to 2030 making 15 years in the Party’s top office. According to the official declaration, Hon. Mao has won with 969 votes, Hon Dr. Lulume got 339 votes compared to 330 votes he got 10 years ago at Katomi, while Hon Alitia has recieved only 52 votes.

Another would be candidate Hon. Eng. Richard Ssebamala was disqualified after he failed to fulfil requirements and decided to make alliance with Lulume, which hasnt delivered.

Mao is going to serve his last term and assured Party members that he will not contest again after this term.

About how Mao managed to defeat his opponents, insiders say, he adopted the 3/4 crusade that pitted 3 regions against Buganda where Lulume and Ssebamala come from.

“They couldn’t pass this game plan, that is why they resorted to violence. The three other regions massively voted for Chairman Mao and he managed to get some votes from Buganda.” Said an insider from Camp Mao. THE Democratic Party’s National Delegates Conference commenced yesterday, marking a pivotal step in the party’s electoral process. The event was officially opened by the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Kiwanuka Mayambala, who delivered opening remarks outlining the rules of procedure.

Attendees comprising presidential contenders and other party representatives took their seats, ready for the proceedings.

The highlight of the morning was the speech by President General and Minister for Justice & Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Nobert Mao. In an eloquent address, Chairman Mao reflected on his long-standing service and struggles within the Democratic Party, emphasized his commitment to the party’s ideals, and lauded his close allies, including Vice President Hon. Dr. Fred Mukasa Mbidde.

Both Mao and Mbidde were accompanied by their spouses—Mrs. Beatrice Mao, affectionately called “Untie B” by party members, and Mrs. Phiona Mbidde—who seated themselves at a designated table.

Following Mao’s address, the party’s Secretary General, Hon. Dr. Gerald Siranda, presented the official report of the party’s Election Management Committee, led by Mr. Kennedy Mutenyo.

The report verified and vetted the list of candidates vying for various positions, including the contested race for party president. Notably, candidates such as Dr. Michael Lulume Bayigga, Hon. Nobert Mao, and Mr. Alitia were listed, while Bukoto Central legislator, Hon. Eng. Richard Sebamala was disqualified due to failing to meet the constitutional requirement of ten years of active party membership. This means, he has to try his luck again in 2030, 5 years ftom now!

DISQUALIFIED: Ssebamala will not contest for DP President General

In addition, some positions, including vice President and Deputy Secretary General, were declared uncontested, with incumbents like Christine Mugerwa and Mbidde affirmed for re-election.

UNOPPOSED: DP VP Hon. Dr. Fred Mukasa Mbidde

MPUUGA-NUP EXIT: BOBI WINE SETTLES FOR DANGERMAN LUBOWA GYAVIIRA SSEBINA TO TAKE OVER AS NYENDO-MUKUNGWE NEXT MP! HERE IS WHY!

0

I WILL DELIVER MR. PRESIDENT: In the photo, Rtn. Lubowa Gyaviira Ssebina looks to be assuring H.E Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi that he will make the best MP. NUP wants him to take over from Hon. Mathias Mpuuga as MP Nyendo-Mukungwe

STORY BY: MARY KADDU, MASAKA

JUST a few days after opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) Buganda Vice President Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, also Buganda Caucus Chairman, declared Nyendo-Mukungwe among the empty constituencies where NUP must field a candidate to fill the vacuum, the incumbent Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba early this week officially left NUP and formed Democratic Front (DF) Party!

However, even before Mpuuga declared the formation of a new Party, NUP had already started shopping for a dangerous and strong candidate in the names of Lubowa Gyaviira Ssebina, well educated, well grounded in Buganda Kingdom, the Catholic Church and very loyal to the Kavule NUP Party headquaters.

In the Photo, Hon. Kyagulanyi and wife Barbie at Rubaga Cathedral for a Tuesday Class Mass. On Bobi’s right is Rtn. Lubowa Gyaviira Ssebina.

Insiders say, although there are other aspirants showing interest in the Nyendo-Mukungwe constituency, Rtn. Lubowa Gyaviira Ssebina is unequaled and Party leadership is convinced that he is the best deployment for this seat, considering his level of education, connections, Catholic Church links, particiapation in party activities and loyalty to Supreme leader of NUP, H.E President Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi plus the entire party top leadership.

For starters, Hon. Lubowa Gyaviira is among the much respected top leaders of Makerere University. If NUP is looking for a candidate who perfectly fits in Mpuuga’s shoes as per the level of education, Lubowa Ssebina supercedes the required level of education.

Reserved, very fluent in English, a great researcher and highly informed, Hon. Lubowa is an answered prayer for Nyendo-Mukungwe. In him NUP will have a self contained legislator.

LUBOWA GYAVIIRA – BUGANDA KINGDOM TIES

It is true Hon. Mpuuga served as Kabaka’s youth minister. However, also Hon. Lubowa Gyaviira Ssebina and Mengo are inseparable. He grew up as a member of Nkobazamboga, an Association of Buganda Youth in Universities and tertiary institutions. He once served as the Publicity Secretary of Nkobazambogo at MUBS. He mobilized and united Buganda Youth, bringing institutions together to serve Kingdom interests. Lubowa Gyaviira sits on the Board of Lubiri High School, Buloba Campus, and has done much to streamline financial management of this Kabaka’s School.

Insiders at Mengo say, with three others, Lubowa Gyaviira developed an idea to start Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education, Mengo. In fact it was his brain child.

In Buddu County, it is on record, Lubowa Gyaviira is among the top sponsors of Buddu Masaza football team. He contributed greatly to the rehabilitation of Buddukiro House in Masaka and selflessly supports all Kingdom functions.

For starters, Lubowa Gyaviira is a serving Katikkiro of Ngo clan, one of the most powerful and well organised clans in Buganda. He is in Kabaka’s good books for doing a lot for the Kingdom. No wonder his name is a byword at Kabaka’s radio CBS. So if NUP is looking for a leader with a Mengo clearance card, Lubowa is the answer.

On many Kingdom functions, Hon. Kyagulanyi is always seen comfortably seated with Rtn. Lubowa Gyaviira. We have the footage! So whoever thought Mengo will lose Mpuuga, Lubowa is ready to start where Mpuuga stopped as far as promoting Kindgom interests is concerned be it in Parliament or even beyond.

CHURCH LINKS

Whoever questioned Lubowa Gyaviira’s links to the Catholic Church, needs to read this; He served as head of laity (Ssabakirisitu) in Wakiso Parish. In Nyendo-Mukungwe, Masaka, his father (late) Stefano Mwanje donated a piece of land to the Church where Kyali-Kyalugo Subparish stands. St. Bruno Saza Parish has four Subparishes, and Kyali-Kyalugo is one of them.

Lubowa Gyaviira has been pivotal in the construction of Kyali-Kyalugo Subparish Catholic church. He even sits on the construction committee. He sits on the Board of Butende Bricks, a project of Masaka Diocese making building materials. A member of the laity commission coperative, a member of the Cathedral foundation, Lubowa is deeply involved in the activities of the Church.

ON THE ISSUE OF LOYALTY

Investigations show, Bobi Wine is proud of Lubowa Ssebina! Regardless of his level of education and the powerful financial muscles, Lubowa is a down to earth leader who has never even uttered a word against his party boss. Everytime Bobi Wine calls Lubowa, his only reply is, “Here I am my President”.

When Hon. Lubowa Gyaviira (in a beret) checked at his President when he was shot by a teargas canister

We are told, as Lubowa family, they started supporting Bobi Wine’s music before he even thought of joining elective politics, yes they were his fans.

Lubowa and his family loved Bobi’s way of doing things, the way he established himself and how he organises his team.

Months ago when Bobi Wine visited Masaka, Hon. Lubowa almost single handedly footed all the bills as Masaka prepared to receive the political gladiator and for those who attended, you all watched Nakaseke South MP Paul Ssemakula Luttamaguzi openly endorsing Lubowa for Nyendo-Mukungwe MP race in the presence of Hon. Kyagulanyi. Inner circles reveal that, Bobi had a hand in this declaration.

Lubowa is very close to Party SG David Lewis Rubongaya and Chairman Fred Ssentamu Nyanzi, Bobi’s brother. He is a real MP material and this makes him the most favourite for MP Nyendo-Mukungwe.

GROUND CHECK

On ground, Lubowa Gyaviira is a darling to voters. He is approachable, kind and doesn’t conflict with fellow leaders which endears him to footsoldiers.

He has stood in solidarity with political prisoners and stood surety. He is not even shy of paying bail for those arrested because of political beliefs.

Lubowa works closely with Hon. Charles Kirumira, Mayor Florence Namayanja and all NUP top shots in Greater Masaka. In fact, fellow NUP leaders in Masaka already endorsed his candidature and the Party headquater is aware. It will be next to impossible for any other aspirant to defeat Lubowa in pursuing the party ticket. All signs, including the recent opinion polls conducted, show Lubowa is the next member of parliament for Nyendo Mukungwe.

LUBOWA SSEBINA FOUNDATION

Through this foundation established in 2021 and registered in 2022 as a legal entity with an office in the constituency, many lives of the needy and helpless have been touched.

The foundation caters for the education of the disadvantaged, Health & Environment, Culture, Religious Affairs, Gender and Social Affairs. It looks after the elderly in the community, visits the helpless and organises annual events involving the old and the youth to bridge the gap.

The foundation helps to educate and mobilise the youth, gives elderly care to the the old people. He supports talent identification and organises a Netball tournament, annually. In 2022, Lubowa Gyaviira took She-Cranes, the National Netball team, to do community work in Nyendo-Mukungwe. The team was heading to Birmingham, UK for competitions.

In the next story, we will analyse other contenders like counsel Sam Muyizi who many people think is a Mpuuga’s blue eyed boy and with no political roots in the constituency.

For Alice Nannungi, the party is considering to front her for MP Masaka City where Mpuuga’s woman Juliet Kakande is serving as the incumbent member of Parliament. Juliet Kakande has also crossed to Hon. Mpuuga’s new Party and NUP badly want this seat.

However this seat will also be highly competed for. A one Nanyonga Sawiya has already showed interest. We will come back with another analysis on that! This is a developing story!

SSEWANYANA IS A TRAITOR & MOLE, WE WILL INSTEAD VOTE FOR NRM’S DOREEN KEITA’, ANGRY MAKINDYE WEST VOTERS REJECT BOBI’S DEAL AS WAR AMONG NUP LEADERS IN MAKINDYE DEEPENS

NEWS EDITOR MEDIA

THE war within the leading opposition Political Party, National Unity Platform (NUP) over 2026 Party ticket, has deepened in Makindye West Constituency with the latest MP Ssewanyana-Bobi Wine deal annoying Party supporters saying, Ssewanyana is a renown traitor and mole who shouldnt be trusted!

IN HOT SOUP: MP Allan Ssewanyana

Angry party supporters have vowed to instead vote for NRM’s Doreen Keita, former RCC Makindye referring to her as a mother for all whose voice can easily be heard in Parliament.

NUP The party is now torn-apart in Makindye West, a number of groups created by other party card seakers to fight each other and no hopes to reunite as 2026 General election nears!

Political analysts now say, these divisions works for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), no wonder, their aspiring candidate for Makindye West Member of Parliament Hon. Doreen Keita is scoring highly according to a latest opinion poll conducted! Opinion poll shows, Ms. Keita’s camp is eating up NUP strongholds in Makindye West, slums and ghettos are yearning for her, most youth say, they are fed up of NUP wars and bickering in the party.

In this story, we will look at how Ssewanya’s latest deal with NUP President has costed thr party and why NRM’s Keita is politically advancing.

This week, the incumbent Hon. Ssewanyana made a revealation before cameras, how former NUP Vice president Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga was in charge of their arrest (Ssewanyana and Kawempe North late MP Ssegirinya).

Insiders say, Ssewanyana chose to tell lies after he was promised a party ticket in 2026 in a deal which is seriously costing NUP in Makindye West. The same card has already been promised to Makindye Mayor Al Haji Ali Nganda Kasirye Mulyanyama, KCCA Speaker Zahara Luyirika Maala, NUP Institutions leader David Musiri, Bagagga Kwagalana’s Al Haji Farouk Ntege among others.

Each of the above is in good books with Party top leadership and promised the same party ticket to run for Makindye West MP on NUP Party card. And each of the above named persons is busy soliciting for support for MP seat making them fighting each other instead of uniting their supporters and none is about to leave the race.

What shocked many, Ssewanyana who wasn’t in the puzzle and believed to have parted ways with NUP, they hear that he has entered a deal with Party top leadership to win the card again!

Whereas Ms. Doreen Keita, the former Makindye RCC is combing slums and ghettos in Makindye West for NRM, NUP leaders are busy fighting each other and their supporters are looking for an alternative. Such useless fights are making city dwellers, to trust Doreen Keita who has set her eyes to capture the constituency from NUP in 2026.

When Keita met the the locals this week from across the political divide especially NUP, she learnt that Ssewanyana’s utterances against MP Mathias Mpunga, the former Leader of opposition in Parliament, annoyed Makindye West constituents, good enough he exposed his true colours.

“Hon. Ssewanyana is an opportunist and very selfish. We cant be part of such deals he entered with our party leaders. We are tired of being used during elections and dumped thereafter. Come 2026, we will not vote for Ssewanyana or any other NUP candidate, they will pay for their sins.” Said a one Micheal Kinobe, a plumber from Katwe, a city suburb.

Angry NUP supporters in Makindye West say, after he was released from the prison, Ssewanyana distanced himself from Kavule, the NUP Party headquaters.

Infact during Kawempe North byelection, Ssewanyana supported Muhammad Luswa Alex who officially declared a war against Hon. Kyagulanyi using social media. Sources revealed how Ssewanyana was planning to contest as independent or join PFF of Dr Kizza Besigye and Lordmayor Erias Lukwago, his close allies for decades.

“Not only Ssewanyana, who is a self seeker but even those fighting hard to get the NUP ticket. This time, we want to give NRM party chance, to see whether Government will develop our area. We have poor roads, health system, unemployment and we want a bold voice which will talk about our issues in Parliament. In Ms. Doreen Keita, we trust,” noted Harriet Nakato, a second hand cloth dealer in Luwafu.

On her part, Ms. Keita, assured the city dwellers that Makindye West deserves better but it has been disappointed by elected leaders. “l was in charge of this area as deputy RCC, so, l know their performances. So, this time dont make the same mistake to vote lazy and unserious leaders,” said Keita, the deputy RDC Mpigi district. This is a developing story!
