CANDIDATE for 2nd National NRM Vice Chairperson, also Speaker of Parliament, mama Annet Anita Among returned safely from Vatican City, Rome, where she met The Pontiff, Pope LEO XIV. Thanks be to God.
Today, The Head of Parliament in Uganda attended Sports Day of Hillside Primary School, Naalya, where she extended Apostlic blessing to the pupils.
School children were filled with joy and excitement on the arrival of Speaker Anita, a renown Children rights defender and a sports philanthropist.
Madam Speaker was in the company of Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo, President of FUFA, the football governing body in Uganda.
For starters, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, mid this week, met with His Holiness Pope LEO XIV, in Vatican City, Rome. “I was honoured to meet His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican after he celebrated Mass, during which prayers were offered for peace, unity, and love among nations. Later, I will also meet the Vatican’s Secretary of State. It is always fulfilling to visit the Vatican and join Catholic faithful worldwide to pray together and renew our faith,” Speaker Anita posted on her official X page.
Today at Hillside Primary School, Naalya, Anita Among who analysts say, will trounce 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga in the NRM CEC elections next week, expressed delight at the talents nurtured in learners beyond classroom work.
Anita who attended Sports day at Naalya as a proud parent, commended the school, and others alike, for “Upholding government policy of integrating education with co-curricular activities such as sports, noting that this is crucial for holistic development.”
Madam Speaker urged parents to embrace responsible parenting and ensure safe spaces that protect children from exposure to harmful vices.
