OPPOSITION leader in Uganda, Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has saluted US President Donald Trump for arresting Venezuela’s dictator Nicolas Maduro, decrying continued abductions, killings, brutal arrests and detention without trial of his supporters, activists and Human Rights defenders, which he attributes to the NRM ruling regime!

Dictator Maduro’s arrest came at a time when Uganda is having a Presidential election and Kyagulanyi says, over 600 supporters have been arrested, detained, some dumped into torture chambers while others are missing.

In December, last year, NUP’s Charles Muvawala, a Ugandan born – US Citizen and a journalist was arrested, whereas NUP youth activists Joel Innocent Ssentongo, his sister Stecia Ssentongo and many others are missing!

The former students of St. Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High School first received threatening messages to stop mobilizing youth for Kyagulanyi or else, their lives was in danger. Joel Innocent Ssentongo reported a case.of threatening his life at Katwe Police Station in Kampala but NUP officials say, he wasnt helped.

MISSING: Stecia Ssentongo

A few days ago, Dr. Sarah Bireete, a renown Constitutional and civil society activist was also arrested and charged in courts of law.

Hon. Bobi Wine said, Like other dictators, Museveni has suffocated free expression, engaged in mass killings, brutally persecuted the opposition, and suppressed citizens’ rights – among other atrocities.”

Mr. Kyagulanyi says Uganda is unsafe, fearing for the lives of his supporters in Uganda.

However, Haji Yunus Kamya, an NRM activists poured cold water on Kyagulanyi’s allegations against President Museveni and the NRM government, accusing Bovi Wine of calling himself a rebel and calling upon his supporters to start behaving like rebels.

“No sitting government can tolerate rebels and their rebel acts. Kyagulanyi should stop crying fowl. We will continue detaining those rebels. Even Kyagulanyi, anytime, he will be arrested.” Said Kamya, a member of NRM Media Activists.

In a statement released and shared on his social media platforms, Opposition leader Kyagulanyi revealed that, “Ahead of the upcoming election, the ‘security’ outfit called Crime Intelligence (led by Christopher Ddamulira) has once again activated a criminal operation of mass abductions and detentions or enforced disappearances targeting NUP leaders and pro-change activists in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, and the surrounding districts.”

“Comrades in other urban areas in the rest of the country are also targeted by this operation. Already, several comrades have been picked up. The executors of this operation have been divided into groups, with each group ordered to abduct at least 10 leaders/activists in their areas of operation.” Reads, Kyagulanyi’s statement.

He condemned the brutal arrests, torture and abduction of his supporters saying, President Museveni’s regime is in great panic due to the hatred from the public.

Posting on his X- page, Kyagulanyi said, “Comrade Muvawala Charles was violently arrested after our visit to Bulange on Monday. The soldiers targeted him for apparently recording them as they brutalised our supporters. He was arrested alongside 42 other comrades!”

NUP alleges that, Muvawala was violently arrested from Rubaga, assaulted and his phone taken away because he was recording security operatives as they beat up, tear-gassed and pepper-sprayed NUP supporters.

Mr. Kyagulanyi noted that, “We are now close to 600 of our people who have been illegally arrested since the Presidential campaigns started.”

In all his campaigns, Kyagulanyi decries about continued abduction of his supporters claiming that a number of youth are picked from their homes by the gun wielded men and have to been seen again.

“We are living into too much fear. Youth are abducted, killed and many dumped in detentions. Hundreds are not produced in competent courts to get justice, and a few you see in court are on tramped up charges. The country is in great fear as we head to Presidential elections.” Revealed Hon. Kyagulanyi, the leading opposition leader in Uganda.

WHERE IS JOEL INNOCENT SSENTONGO AND STECIAL SSENTONGO?

The two youth were too influential in NUP mobilization and David Musiri, a former NUP Insititution leader informed us how they were so helpful in mobilizing fellow students in different schools to support government change in Uganda.

As a leader of institutions in opposition, i identified different youth to link us in high schools because majority are of voting age. Joel and his sister Stecia helped me a lot in schools. It is absurd that security operatives started trailling and threatening their lives just like i was witchunted and arrested on many occasions.” Said David Musiri
