A contented Museveni who was so pivotal in influencing PAMOJA bid said, “I am so ecstatic for this great achievement my son, thank you so much Hamis Kiggundu.” News Editor Media can exclusively report, The Head of State has confirmed to be the Chief guest at the reopening of Nakivubo Stadium, a mega function which will attract football leaders world over, football stars, world investors and other soccer fanatics across the globe. THE Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among has appealed to leaders and all Ugandans to mind about the legacy they will leave behind when they die, other than focusing on individual achievements and possessions. The head of the August House said a lasting legacy should not solely be defined by one’s achievements or possessions but by the positive impact they have on others and the community. “Your legacy should not only be defined by material possessions but also, values, principles and the good deeds you instill in others,’’ Speaker Among said. She was eulogising the deceased 2nd FUFA Vice President Darius Mugoye during a funeral service held at St. Pauls Cathedral Namirembe Cathedral today Wednesday. Flanked by Members of Parliament David Kabanda (Kasambya County), Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) and others, Madam Speaker described the deceased as a devoted young man whose unwavering determination has made him make remarkable achievements in the world of sport that have inspired countless individuals to pursue their dreams.

At the time of his demise, Mugoye was an executive member of FUFA serving as the body’s second Vice president, under the leadership of President Moses Magogo. THE Saemaul Undong movement was a community-driven development programme of South Korea in the 1970s. The movement contributed to improved community wellbeing in rural communities through agricultural production, household income, village life, communal empowerment and regeneration. Direct women participation in the programme was also vital for the South Korean development turn-around. So, how did a country with a dearth of natural resources, a sprawling population congested in a limited arable land transform itself to a modern industrial state within a generation? How could these have been achieved given the lingering geopolitical threats to its very survival as a state, as evidenced by the Korean War and the internecine aggressive posturing of its neighbor from the north? The short answer is that every leader and citizen of South Korea rallied behind the full implementation of this Saemaul Undong project, and the country was fundamentally turned around. In Uganda, our revolutionary leader, President Yoweri Museveni, launched the Parish Development Model (PDM) in 2022. Emphasising the importance of the progamme, the President described it as a multi-sectoral strategy that will create socio-economic transformation by moving 39% households out of subsistence economy into the money bracket. Building on the foundation for socio-economic transformation, which the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Government has laid by securing the entire country, building roads, hospitals, schools, water sources, dams to generate electricity and other public services, PDM Emyooga and other societal transformation projects should be fully implemented in order to transform our country.
AUTHOR: Manafwa Deputy RDC Kagenyi Lukka
Given the fact that PDM is the magic bullet that will extinguish poverty, every citizen must work tooth-and-nail to ensure that the programme is fully implemented, free of corruption and generally water-tight. Like President Museveni said recently, his vision is to enable all Ugandans to play their part in wealth creation if Uganda is to achieve collective development and prosperity through among other means practicing modern commercial and calculated agriculture to fight poverty at household level. Statistics indicated that the money economy has grown from 4% in 1969 to 68% currently. However, there is still a lot to be done to ensure that every homestead and every citizen joins the money economy. President Museveni has also time and again said that in this economy, we don’t need spectators. We need all people to be players. Under the PDM model, the Parish Chief is the coordinator of all Government efforts at each of the 10,594 parishes. Each parish has been directed to form a cooperative society through which Government support will be channeled. This model emphasises the approach of ensuring increased production, processing and marketing, infrastructure and service delivery at grass roots. The model is designed under seven pillars which include production, storage, processing and marketing. Infrastructure and economic services, financial Inclusion, social services, mindset change, Parish- based management information system, governance and administration are the other pillars. So, with this elaborate model that empowers social-economic transformation at the parish level, why would some people remain spectators while others are making money? It is time for every citizen above 18 years to join President Museveni’s wealth creation crusade. All you need to do is to join a Parish SACCO, and tap into the funds that Government will send to your Parish. The other thing that you need to do is report the corrupt people, who might mess the PDM programme.

YESTERDAY, experienced talk show host, Kungu Al-mahadi Adam, aka KAA, announced he is leaving BaBa Television after 3 years at the Ntinda based station, owned by ruling NRM former Member of Parliament Moses Balyeku. This leading investigative News Website reliably reveals, Kungu is heading for a better platform which is yet to be disclosed. However insiders say, Buganda Kingdom’s BBS Terefayina and Kin Karisa’s NBS have been all along yearning to sign for this fluent journalist. On his X platform (formerly Twitter), Kungu said he would communicate his next home in the next couple of days. Writing on his official social media platforms, Kungu said, “Today (Friday), I hang up the boots as an employee and political talk show host of Gangamuka show on BaBa TV. I thank my employers and colleagues for the opportunity, support, and allowing me to be myself.” His departure depletes Hon. Grace Moses Balyeku’s Baba TV of finest talent, having lost Sir Simon Muyanga a couple of months ago. Born 32 years ago, Kungu joined BaBa TV on November 1, 2020 and since, has been rising through the ranks. By resignation time, he has been the lead presenter of the station’s morning show, Gangamuka, and the host of Hot Cup at 9 which delves into topical political and social conversations in the country. Kungu holds a Bachelor of Mass Communication and Journalism. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in the same at Kampala International University. He started his journalism career as a political writer and reporter with Sunrise Newspaper in 2016 before joining SoftPower News. He would later in 2019 join Top Radio and TV before crossing to BaBa TV and Radio 4 in 2021. Kungu, as a pan-African journalist, has made several visits to various African countries, including Ethiopia and Somalia, and has extensively written about the conflict in Tigray. He is also the brain behind the changes at Businessman Balaam Barugahara’s Radio 4 that have now positioned it among the most listened to radio stations in the country. During his professional career, the provocative TV and radio journalist has hosted and interacted with various key decision makers in the country, including the President of Uganda, Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. At the annual media engagement with the President at Nakasero State Lodge in December 2022, Kungu asked the President whether Uganda was to backtrack on its neutrality stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict following speculations that the U.S had attempted to use the US-Africa Leaders Summit to persuade him reconsider the position. In response, the President dismissed the speculation and added that Uganda is taking the stand because “it’s the correct one.” Over the years, Kungu has received both criticism and praise. Some viewers love his unique interviewing skills, while others find him provocative, aggressive, and sometimes satirical. Earlier this year, he, together with his former colleague at BaBa TV, Simon Muyanga Lutaaya, were suspended for relaying a satirical clip criticising parliament for approving a motion of censure against the housing minister, Persis Namuganza. The assembly penalised the minister because she had accused it of not giving her a fair hearing to address fraud allegations levelled against her. Here at News Editor Media, we wish Mr. KAA good luck at his new workstation.

DETAILS from the Friday meeting between the Director of Crime Intelligence AIGP Brig Gen. Christopher Damulira and the leadership of Wakiso Boda Boda Riders Association at Kololo have emerged! This leading investigative news Website in Uganda can reliably report that, Crime Intelligence boss hosted Wakiso bodaboda leadership at his Kololo office in order to deepen the co-ordination between Uganda police and the Boda boda industry especially on tackling crime, acts of political violence and to devise ways through which the Boda Boda industry can be organised to improve sanity in the conduct of their business. Reliable sources briefed us that, in the meeting, Brig. Gen. Damulira appealed to the Bodaboda leadership to work closely with police and other security organs to identify wrong elements within the Boda Boda industry and ensure safety of both the riders and passengers. “I ppeal to you bodaboda leaders, talk to bodaboda riders to shun acts of violence and to reject opportunistic politicians who use the bodaboda riders for their own interests.” Said Brig. Gen. Christopher Damulira to his guests. He said the Boda Boda industry is supporting many young people to earn a living but also some are tarnishing the image of the country through participating in illegal activities like terrorism, murders accidents which has discouraged many tourists from coming to Uganda due to the disorganization of the riders causing fear to most foreign visitors. However, he encouraged them to re-organise and engage themselves to benefit from government programs like Emyooga and Parish development model to increase on there earnings and reduce the loans they aquire from the companies which offer them abnormal Boda loans. He further appealed to them to work towards improving the service they offer to the public by ensuring they comply with the traffic laws and regulations including ensuring the riders have permits, helmets and reflector jackets and that the motorcycles are properly licensed to be on the road with visible number plates and other traffic requirements. WINNER: Hon. Mukasa (circled), Mayor Mberaźe (extreme right), Eng. Micah Friday (2nd right) and Mr. Buwembo (extreme left)
STORY BY SHARON ASIO LUBAGA SOUTH
UGANDA National Roads Authority (UNRA), has contracted a Chinese Company called China Railway Group to tamac Namasuba-Nyanama-Kitebi road and work is expected to start within only 60 days! This comes after area Member of Parliament Mukasa Aloysius Talton Gold announced a mass demonstration in a protest against this road which is in a very sorry state! On Monday last week, opposition MP Aloysius Mukasa gave Works and Transport minister Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala an ultimatum of 21 days to reconstruct this road which is full of potholes, drainage systems blocked and has turned into a den of thieves according to the residents of not, he leads a demonstraction. Hon. Mukasa who visited areas where this road passes, said enough is enough, he has on many times engaged Gen. Katumba Wamala and UNRA to work on this road but turned deaf ears, threatening to mobilize hundreds of residents to demonstrate saying it is the only language authorities understand. Rubaga South MP Mukasa revealed that, “Government collects exhorbitant taxes from our people, but it is absurd that taxpayers in return are made to walk or drive on such a road full of potholes! As peoples’ representative in Parliament, i cant sit by and fold hands as roads in my constituency become impassable. We will rise up and i can assure you, those in charge will sweat plasma.” Said MP Mukasa who is known for his super mobilization tactics if it comes to leading demonstrations against poor service delivery and violation of human rights. Latest from UNRA, the contractor is identified and all material got, only remaining is the road design/plan and then work kicks off! “We have been contracted by UNRA not KCCA to work on Muzito (Namasuba-Nyanama-Kitebu) road. Almost every thing required to fix this road is in place, we are waiting for the road plan and then work starts.” Mr. Mica Friday, an Engineer from China Railway Company told MP Mukasa during a meeting on Friday, requesting the MP to hold on with the demonstration. We are reliably informed, Rubaga Mayor Zachy Mberaze Mawula requested area MP to call off plans for the demonstration because his prayers had been answered. Rubaga Mayor briefed Hon. Mukasa and even convinced him to visit the contractor’s office for more information. At the contractor’s office in Nyanama near Movit Company, Hon. Mukasa was given two month to start work on the road which duration the MP didnt agree with. “We can only wait for one month. My people are suffering because of the road. Organise yourself and start within one week.” Demanded MP Mukasa. On behalf of the contractor, Mr. Mica Friday promised to be filling the potholes as they wait for the road plan and then permanent tarmac starts. Nyanama road which Hon. Mukasa demands to be urgently fixed stretches from Freedom City Namasuba (Freedom City) on Entebbe road and goes through Nyanama to Kitebi at a place commonly known as ‘Star.’ This road connects Entebbe road and Kabuusu -Lweza road. Hon. Mukasa says, it’s true all roads especially in Kampala need urgent overhaul but Namasuba – Nyanama-Kitebi road is deplorable. “When you happen to use this road, what quickly comes to your mind is an aged government that is steadily going down hill and in fear waiting for its eventual death. This road is in fact the beginning of hell. All the potholes here are in fact a death trap yet the road connects travellers to Entebbe Airport road!” Revealed Hon. Mukasa. Taking a walk on Nyanama road, MP Aloysius Mukasa noted the rate at which motor vehicles and motorcycles using this road are breaking-down each day that passes by. The level of insecurity on the road is high, as the road has become a den of thieves since cars are forced to move at a very slow speed. “Travellers are missing flights, using the road is costly in terms of fuel and time yet it is a shortcut to Entebbe Airport road. We will firsr go to Gen. Katumba in peace but if his ministry becomes adamant, Rubaga South people will use another language.” Said MP Mukasa. Namasuba-Nyanama road is a collection of potholes, the drainage system has broken down. when it rains, the road turns into a swimming pool yet it is one of the busiest road. Hon. Mukasa who is used recess to walk around his constituency said, Rubaga South being a business constituency is contributing a lot to the Government treasury but there is no value for taxes paid. Thank God that the road is going to be constructed.

STORY BY: SHARON ASIO NEWS EDITOR MEDIA
DAVID MUSIRI, the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) Party Institutons’ leader was yesterday(Thursday) night arrested by police and other security operatives as other youth are being hunted to be thrown into coolers! According to NUP Insititutions official tweeter page, Musiri was arrested at Kyambogo University amidst teargas pouring like rainfall on students by heartless police officers.
ARRESTED: NUP’s David Musiri
“David Musiri was arrested and whisked away a few minutes ago, when police began using tear gas on Students during the reading of the Guild President election results by the Students Electoral Commission.” Reads a tweet from NUP Institutions. Hon. Francis Zaake, the NUP National youth leader who also doubles as Member of Parliament for Mityana Municipality constituency in the 11th Parliament has condemned the continued arrests of opposition youth especially those subscribing to NUP, warning the State on what Zaake referred to as violation of human rights in Uganda and torture of the opponents. In an exclusive interview with this leading investigative news online today morning, a day after Constitutional Court in Uganda quashed the resolution by Parliament to remove Hon. Zaake from the Parliamentary Commission, Zaake revealed to us how a number of opposition youth have gone into hiding and some are running out of the country in fear for their lives.
From left: Lordmayor Erias Lukwago and MP Francis Zaake, yesterday, shortly after Constitutional court pronounced itself on Zaake’s removal from Parliamentary commission
“As i strongly condemn the arrest of Mr. David Musiri, i want to bring it to the attention of human rights defenders and the public at large that the NRM government has continued to abduct our people especially opposition youth for fighting dictatorship and agitating for the rule of law and good governance.” Said MP Zaake. He noted that, “We are worried, by 2026 General elections, many opposition youth will be in torture chambers, prisons or killed. Among opposition youth Zaake talked about are those who are still rotting in Prisons and others like Simon Peter Galiwango whose whereabouts according to MP Zaake, are not known. Zaake revealed to us how, “Simon Peter Galiwango was so fundamental in mobilizing fellow University students to resist dictatorship in our country but security operatives have been trailing him to his home. As of today, his whereabouts are not known.”
ABOUT SIMON PETER GALIWANGO A 31 years old father to a two years’ old boy, Simon Peter is a graduate with Bsc. in Telecomunications Engineering at the prestigious Makerere University. Simon Peter is one of the brains behind People Power/NUP led strikes at Makerere and other Insititutions of higher learning. Since his days at Makerere University, Galiwango, originally a Uganda Young Democrat (UYD) supporter has been among the invisible hands in moblizing for opposition in Uganda. His four year stay at the University was filled with political running battles such as the Vice Chancellor Power Struggles, Administration struggles and most importantly the Student Body Vs Senate Administration on the tuition increment policy. Majority of the students (Simon Peter Galiwango inclusive) were 100% against this policy, Makerere being a public University. “We were aware the government funds the normal running of the institution with a certain percentage under the education act. Factor in the tuition over 500,000 students pay every semester and there would be sufficient funds to run the university. For no concrete reasons, the university kept on pushing for the 10% tuition increment but the student body disagreed as many students were struggling to raise the current fees structure. We had to organise a series of strikes (2012-2016).” Said Galiwango when one time he was asked why with his team, they made MUK unruly. He said, “The strike of October 7, 2015, I was among the participants since I was a final year student hoping to finish my studies. Makerere University demanded 100% tution payment of all students in the first six weeks. Being a Government University with students from poor families, we rejected the University position and requested them to revisit their decission but all our efforts were in vain. We had no other option but to mobilize students for a demonstration. Pressure from students was too much and the University was shut down indefinitely. Many of the students were badly beaten by police, others brutally arrested since government regarded us as traitors to state institutions. I was among the students who managed to escape.“ In fact for the last strike, Zaake was in touch with Galiwango and other Makerere students ring leaders. For starters, it is this MP Zaake who picked a war with MUK Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe over how he mistreats, tortures students and mismanages the University. Then Speaker Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga’s 10th Parliament referred MP Zaake to the Rules Committee on allegations of disturbing him (Prof. Nawangwe), but the Committee failed to find evidence to pin Zaake. The two, Zaake and Galiwango have been so close even before People power pressure group was formed. For record purposes when Zaake contested for Guild President at Ndejje University, Simon Peter led a team of MUK students which went to Ndejje University to canvas votes for Zaake, an election he massively won. When Zaake contested for MP in 2021, again Simon Peter Galiwango and a group of MUK students camped in Mityana to campaign for a fellow ‘fighter’. Thanks be to God, Zaake convincingly defeated other contestants. Little did Simon Peter know that security operatives were trailing him and wanted him arrested to be quizzed on his dealings with Zaake. By the time he realised, it was too late.
NUP National youth leader Hon. FRANCIS Zaake
On his graduation ceremony in Kabowa a Kampala suburb on 21 February 2017, Simon Peter shocked his family when he hosted Hon. Zaake as chief guest, a function which Zaake turned into a political rally and praised Simon Peter Galiwango for being a brave youth who chose not to dine with what he called the oppressors.
BUDDIES: MP Zaake and Simon Peter Galiwango on his graduation ceremonyin 2017
“I wouldnt be here if Iand Simon Peter are not on the same front against human rights voilations in Uganda, dictatorship and corruption. As forces of change, we are so proud of him.” Said MP Zaake. In his Speech, Mr. Galiwango thanked Zaake for the spirit of brotherhood and pledged to soldier on. In fact, on this function, Zaake gave Galiwango a job to install security cameras at his Nalumunye home now that he had gained the expertise
CAMPAIGN FOR KYAGULANYI Although Simon Peter had left Makerere University, his network was intact. When Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine contested for MP Kyadondo East, Simon Peter liased with his MUK teams and camped in Kyadondo East. Kyagulanyi won on all polling stations. Later, when People Power pressure group turned into a political party (NUP), Simon Peter is among youth who first subscribed to this leading oposition party in Uganda. He has survived a number of arrests being an invisible strategist who rarely shows his face. However, Security operatives have kept on trailing this young man and we will not be shocked if he is smoked out of his hidng place.

STORY BY: MOSES MUGALULA NEWS EDITOR MEDIA
NATIONAL Resistance Movement (NRM) ruling Party District Chairpersons Kampala region have sent a strong warning to Rubaga South NUP MP Mukasa Aloysius Talton Gold over his planned riots he announced on Monday while conducting the oversight role about the state of roads in Rubaga. MP Mukasa who walked on the potholed Namasuba-Nyanama-Kitebi road gave an ultimatum to authorities in government to urgently fix this road and other roads which are in very poor state or he mobilizes public to rise up and demonstrate. These demonstrations he forecast will leave top government leaders with running stomaches! Addressing journalists today at Plot 10 Kyaddondo, NRM Headquaters in Kampala, Party Chairpersons have lashed out at the opposition Hon. Aloysius Mukasa saying as an MP, he must be aware that Parliament cut KCCA budget which can not enable Executive Director Dorothy Kisakka to work on all Kampala roads in a short time possible, amidst the heavy down pour. Led by Haji Abudallah Kitatta, the NRM Chairperson for Rubaga district, Kampala NRM leaders saluted City ED Dorothy Kisaka for the job well done looking at the small budget given to her by Parliament and amidst sabotouers like Junior Minister for KCCA, Kabuye Kyofatogabye.
Chairman Kitatta, while addressing media at NRM Headquaters, Kyadondo
Other NRM Chairpersons who addressed media were; Hassan Lukyamuzi (Makindye district), Nicholas Arinaitwe (Nakawa district) and Pastor Godfrey Luwagga Kawempe district). The outspoken Kitatta roared, “Yesterday i saw MP Aloysius Mukasa threatening to lead a massive demonstration in protest against what he called poor road system in particular Nyanama road. As ruling NRM Party Kampala chairperson, we want first of all to warn opposition MP Mukasa and those believing his gospel of violence that we will not allow disturbing the peace of Kampala people. Let him dare organise demonstrations, we will deflate them. We can no longer tolerate political riots moreover based on lies.” Without mincing words Kitatta said, because of what he called blunders made during 2021 elections which saw opposition MPs trounce all NRM candidates, Kampala NRM chairpersons have offered themselves to serve as ‘Members of Parliament’ and will not tolerate opposition lies. He said, “It is absurd that Hon. Mukasa and other MPs in Kampala are not aware that roads in Kampala are already under reconstruction. In fact in Rubaga where i was elected NRM Chairperson, roads like Balintuma, Mugema, Ssuuna, the road that stretches to Nantawetwa in Mengo, and many others, work is ongoing. It is suprising that mature opposition MPs like Hon. Mukasa can not appreciate Madam Dorothy Kisaka and her team at KCCA for the job well done!”
MP Mukasa (in suit), looked at the blocked drainage on Nyanama road, on Monday
Kitatta advised opposition MPs to visit the mentioned roads and see the work ongoing instead of misleading public into what he termed as unnecessally riots which can nolonger be entertained. “Let Hon. Mukasa and fellow MPs in Kampala instead increase KCCA budget, because that is their mandate, then madam Kisaka will be able to work on more roads including Nyanama road from where MP Mukasa threatened to lead a demonstration if not fixed. But right now, ED Kisaka’s hands are tied by these very MPs, we sympathise with her, she can only give what the budget avails.” Said Haji Abudallah Kitatta.
‘IS MINISTER KYOFATOGABYE IN BED WITH OPPOSITION TO DENT NRM GOVERNMENT’, ASK NRM CHAIRPERSONS In what looked to be the unmasking of KCCA State minister Kabuye Kyofatogabye’s deals with opposition MPs to bite the hand that feeds him, Kampala NRM chairpersons were shocked when they heard this junior minister blackmailing KCCA ED Kisaka on a certain radio calling for her arrest insinuating that she is corrupt! Furious NRM bosses said, it is instead Kyofa who should be sacked for being corrupt and conning bodaboda riders of billions of shillings.
NRM Chairpersons want him sacked: STATE MINISTER KYOFATOGABYE
Kitatta who had no kind words towards Kyofatogabye also revealed that he recently constructed a mega school worth billions of shillings, using money obtained from bodaboda riders on pretext that it was for money checking their heads to ascertain that they are of sound mind. “Each bodaboda rider was made to pay Sixty Thousand Shillings (60,000) and about 30,000 paid that money. How much did Kyofa and his clique steal from poor bodaboda riders? And where did he take this money? Can he give us the accountability? Where is the ministerial minute which empowered him to take money from our people? Doesnt he think, his ill acts make people hate NRM?” Asked Kitatta who doubted Kyofa’s capability to mobilise for the Party, calling him a man of useless wars. He told journalists how it was wrong for Kyofa to go in public and mudsling workholic ED Kisaka instead of inviting her to his office being a line minister, if he had issues with her. “Why fight Kisaka who was appointed by The Head of State and recently renewed her contract due to her competence? Who in opposition is paying Kyofa to taint ED’s name? As NRM Chairpersons in Kampala, we think Kyofa has gone astray, we will call him to order, if he continues to be adamant, we will ask our National Chairman President Museveni to sack him. Our mission this time, is to sweep Kampala for NRM come 2026 polls. Any one causing disunity amongst us, we will ask the President to take him away.” Warned Kitatta.
KCCA ED Kisaka (2nd left) with her team at City hall
He hailed ED Kisaka for creating jobs for youth in Kampala like Seven Hills, sweepers and those in waste management and pleged their enormous support to KCCA boss.
ED KISAKA SAVED OUR PEOPLE IN KAWEMPE FROM FLOODS – NRM CHAIPERSON KAWEMPE Asked to say something, Pastor Godfrey Luwagga, NRM Chairperson Kawempe started by crediting Mrs. Kisaka for ending floods in Kawempe by constructing big channels like Lubigi Channel which was commissioned by President Museveni. This led to a great improvement in the drainage systems. People in Bwaise, Kalerwe and Kawempe in general are no longer experiencing floods thanks to KCCA. He even wondered why the Kawempe NUP MPs don’t publically praise Kisaka and her team for that! Pastor Luwaga caused laughter during the presser when he said, “There used to be a joke that ‘Water is life, when you are not sleeping in Kawempe. Who didnt know that Kawempe used to be a flooding area whenever it rained? Thanks be to ED Kisaka and her technical team at City Hall, Kawempe is free of floods. We now read about floods in Lufuka Zone Wakiso, and other areas”.
Most of the roads now around Kampala are constructed with walkways for pedestrians
Reffering to Minister Kyofatogabye as a broker, Chairman Luwagga said, “How can a KCCA minister run to public and undress his surbodinate Dorothy Kisaka if he isnt discrediting her to appease his funders?” “According to me, Kyofa is incompetent and very weak. How dare he go to public and shout against a person who serves under him? Unless Kyofa doesnt know his mandate as a KCCA Minister. Why take to media ED Kisaka, a lady who introduced smart city. What is your motive Mr. Kyofatogabye? Our people want service delivery not your useless fights. As NRM, we are accountable to the people, take your fights out of Kampala.” Noted Pastor Luwagga, Kawempe NRM boss.
‘I CHASED KYOFA OUT OF NAKAWA FOR TELLING LIES’, SAYS NICHOLAS ARINAITWE, NRM CHAIRPERSON NAKAWA DISTRICT When his turn came to address media, Mr. Arinaitwe, the Nakawa NRM boss said, he directed Kyofa never to step in Nakawa again after he misinformed Nakawa people about Parish Development Model. “First of all, i want to thank KCCA ED for being a leader who listens and acts. There were impassable roads in Nakawa which i reported to her, our people were complaining and cursing NRM government over such poor roads. I am happy to inform the public that she worked on them. Those which are yet to be fixed, she has promised us to work on them as soon as possible.” Said Chairman Arinaitwe. He hailed government for fixing a bridge across a drainage channel at Kyambogo, and now floods can flow perfectly. Arinaitwe said, there is cordial relationship between KCCA technical wing with NRM leaders in Kampala which has enabled service delivery and Kampala people are benefitng from PDM and emyoga. About KCCA junior minister attacks to ED Kisaka, Chairman Arinaitwe shocked fellow leaders when he told journalists that he chased Kyofa from Nakawa and if he is man enough let him dare step there. “He went on radio and lied that in Nakawa, eleven parishes have received money for Parish Development Model yet, non has received even a single coin. Our people got concerned and wanted to roast alive this minister for telling lies. I told him never to step in Nakawa and i am happy, he complied. We dont deal with liars.” Said a tough speaking Nakawa NRM Chairman Nicholas Arinaitwe.
MAKINDYE NRM CHAIRMAN LUKYAMUZI ADDS HIS VOICE AS HE LEAVES KYOFATOGABYE NAKED Mr. Hassan Lukyamuzi informed journalists that because Kyofa doesnt screen what to say, he should stop going to media since his utterances credit the opposition. “As NRM leaders in Kampala, we feel embarassed by the likes of minister Kyofatogabye who is starting fights against our own. He speaks without first thinking. He is doing NRM a disservice. He is not the government spokesperson, we ask him to first consult us before spitting his venom against fellow leaders in the party.” Said Mr. Lukyamuzi. He supported Chairman Kitatta against demonstrations organised by oppositon MPs over what they call poor roads, advising them to find way of meeting the president and find a way of sourcing for funds to reconstruct roads since they are part of goverment instead of going for riots which will not bear fruits. “Kampala roads need total overhaul. This calls for more funds. Let opposition MPs go and meet the president Museveni and lobby for the funds. Rioting is not a solution.” Said Chairman Lukyamuzi. By press time we had not got Minister Kabuye Kyofatogabye for a comment.

STORY BY SHARON ASIO NEWS EDITOR MEDIA
OPPOSITION legislator Mukasa Aloysius Talton Gold, NUP Member of Parliament representing Rubaga South Constituency, today morning walked on the deadly Namasuba -Nyanama -Kitebi road from where he sent a tough message to Roads and Works minister Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala to urgently fix this road or the MP leads a massive demonstration.
Addressing journalists today morning, Hon. Mukasa who convincingly trounced 13 candidates in 2021 MP elections to be crowned Rubaga South MP, asked Gen. Katumba Wamala to quickly work on this road which the NUP legislator says, has become a death trap!
“They collect exhorbitant taxes from our people, it is absurd that taxpayers in return are made to walk or drive on such a road full of potholes! As peoples’ representative in Parliament, i cant sit by and fold hands as roads in my constituency become impassable. We will rise up and i can assure you, Gen. Katumba and his government will sweat plasma.” Said MP Mukasa who is known for his super mobilization tactics if it comes to leading demonstrations against poor service delivery and violation of human rights. Nyanama road which Hon. Mukasa demands to be urgently fixed falls under UNRA and Ministry of Roads and Works. It stretches from Freedom City Namasuba on Entebbe road and goes through Nyanama to Kitebi at a place commonly known as ‘Star.’ This road connects Entebbe road and Kabuusu -Lweza road.

All the potholes here are in fact a death trap yet the road connects travellers to Entebbe Airport road. We are going to cause Roads minister Katumba and UNRA officials a running stomach. It’s enough!” Vowed Hon. Mukasa.
Hon. Mukasa, in one of his engagements with Rubaga South electorates
Hon. Mukasa who is using recess to walk around his constituency said, Rubaga South being a business constituency is contributing a lot to the Government treasury but there is no value for taxes paid.
Parliament is in a three weeks recess after Speaker Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among suspended Parliament and all committee sittings for 21 days directing Members of parliament to utilise recess to monitor Government programmes, play an oversight role by inspecting infrastructure and collect views from their electorates. “Honourable members, at the end of today’s sitting, we will go on recess until 28th September 2023. Unlike previous recess periods where some committees continued to transact business, this recess will be an absolute one,” said Among in her communication at the commencement of the Thursday September 7, 2023 plenary. Madam Speaker insisted, ‘’I expect all of you to head to your constituencies to monitor the implementation of Government programmes.’’ As provided for under Article 90 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, the Members of Parliament are mandated to carry out oversight of all the government programmes undertaken in their constituencies all over the country. The same law mandates them to monitor, evaluate and bring to the attention of ministers and the public the misuse of government funds, poor service delivery, violations of the rule of law and unlawful activities.
