FORMER Cranes Player Mike Mutyaba’s troubles are not about to end! Latest info, he is staring at a lifetime ban from football by FIFA.
Although Mutyaba’s current three month ban from football expires in June 2026, we are told, World football governing body, FIFA has now received all evidence incriminating him.
Whereas other players and officials involved are still under investigation, Mutyaba who orchestrated the deal is set to receive a life ban for match-fixing.
For starters, The Federation of Uganda Football Associations, FUFA, suspended five individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged match manipulation.
The case relates to a Uganda Premier League match between Kitara FC and Express FC played on 21 December 2024.
Initial findings reportedly linked Mike Sulaiman Mutyaba, Katende Ivan, and Express FC CEO Ashraf Miiro to the Match fixing. Players Emmanuel Kalyowa and Ashraf Mbazira were also named in the scandal.
FIFA Disciplinary Committee picked interest in the matter and imposed worldwide bans on two former Express FC officials and player.
Former coach Mike Mutyaba, goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa, and Miiro Ashraf Mwanje (former CEO) were banned from all football activities worldwide from 12th March 2026 while Mbazira Ashiraf’s case was still pending before the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
