I HAVE painfully failed to come to terms with the death of Ritah Nabukenya, a comrade, who on Monday died in very unclear circumstances while traveling on a Boda Boda.

Kawempe Mayor: Sserunjogi

Police claims she fell off a motorcycle which collided with another in areas of Nakawa, rushed her to hospital and later breathed her last. But, the rider and eyewitnesses continue giving a totally different account.

They say a police truck trailed the deceased and her rider who were both don in People Power attires and consequently caused the accident and rode over her, leading to her death. In fact, it is alleged that Police refused to rush her to the hospital for first aid and medication.

As a result, myself and a bigger public are suspicious and reject the uncoordinated police statement which was by the way backdated (It indicates February 24, 2018 as the date of issue).

The country needs to know the truth and so, an independent probe should be constituted to ascertain all the facts behind her death.

Police which is suspected of murdering this innocent young patriotic mother, can not conduct an independent investigation on itself.

Rest in peace soldier, but we shall not back off until you are served justice.
